I want to tell you about these really cool dreams I saw during these last three nights. As allways I don't remember everything and must complete some detail by logic, but sometimes I remember my dreams with suprisingly high accurasy. Something not all of you know is, that I also see s.k. lucid dreams, in which I am aware of dreaming. I enjoy them very much, and last night I had definately one of my favourites. I think I might start to write about my interesting dreams more often, so I have a motive for trying to recall them right after waking up.
Three nights ago I saw this dream involving one of our families friends Tuula. She was visiting us at our home in Tampere. We had a lot of problems during her visit, of which much I don't remember. However, this I do remember. We went for a walk in a apparantly very big forest. Then we turned around this corner and I remember being astound with the beauty of the place.
It was a forest in which the trees were reddish-brown and surrounded by green vines. The barks of these trees were carved in figures I can bearly describe. The figures resembled diamond shapes overlapping in unreagular patterns. Also there were some other shapes, that I remember seeing but can't describe. At this point I began to suspect that this was a dream, as nothing in the real world could be so astounding. Then we walked through this forest, which was small, into this mountain town (I think in Switcherland, or that is what I assosiated the town with). Note here how we had mysteriously walked from Finland to Switcheland, but nevertheless this is what my dream showed me. Here I asked my little sister and mother "Is this a dream?" and they said that of course it wasn't. But that proved me true, as they would of been more surprised if it wasn't a dream. I tried to cause lighning, as to prove my point, but couldn't visualize it sufficiently and failed. Then however I lifted some people off the ground and caused a very powerful wind, but I already knew that after these I would wake up.
Now for the dream I saw the day before yesterday. The beginning of this dream is mysterious, but it involves me living in a big house that either transforms later into a church or was that originally. My little sister was being confirmed and there were a lot of people, young, old and of course a priest. For some reason I cannot completely understand is I decided to run away from the church before the mass had begun. I ran away and found one of my friends Jouni with another guy and there I stopped. They persuaded me to stay and not go back. They also had a canoo and apparently lived temporarily under a bridge. Then as night arrived I reallised I needed something to sleep on, so I had to return to get stuff. Jouni warned me that they would try to persuade me to stay and that I should not listen. Nevertheless I left and then woke up. In this dream I did not have a lucid -experience.
The dream I saw last night was in certain ways the coolest of all the dreams, because I was a long time aware of dreaming and also had a little fun with it. This time also I remember dreaming much longer, but the very beginning seems to be lost in my memories. The story begins in a medieval town, or country, which wants to steal this one document. We go to war and our king manages to steal the document ath this small town, but after continuing travel it is stolen again and we are cidnapped. I remember refuising to kill anybody unarmed or retreating. As a gun was pointed at me and my frieds I asked if they could let us go, after all they had already got what they wanted and it would be the humane way.
The opponents seemed very primitive and they lived in a tropical forest of some kind. They would not let us go. The reason was, according to some tribal leader, that we had caused their forests to be destroyed and had brought some sort of curse on them. At the moment we heard of this accusation we reallized what they were talking about. One of our troops was an old man (had gray hair, and a very wise look) who knew also about ecology, evolution and the forest in general (this I found out only now). This man explained that the reason for destruction of some areas of forest and plants was some sort of ash-plant whose pollen caused surrounding plants to be destroyed. They did not believe him until one of our men showed them that where there was damage to plants there was an ash-plant near by.
The discovery maid the tribe very pleased and they decided to let us go. We left with a type of bus (here is an obvious contradiction, because there were no busses in medieval ages). I and the old man were worried about our troops taking with them local plants, because they could destroy our ecosystem. Especially I was worried about the ash-plant coming with us. The worrie was not unnecessary as the floor of the bus was practically covered with leaves of local plants. Nevertheless we left for the trip back home. On the way I somehow knew I was in a dream. I wanted to do a small test: Everything in a dream should come out of my own mind. So what happens if I ask someone something I couldn't possible know an answere before.
So I asked this old man, that I respected and cared for very much in the dream: "Where did you learn about evolution?" He answered to me (as I was smiling and enjoying every moment of my small test): "Hmm...Amm... I'm not shu...At this one Sphere Organisation. We were baptist cahtolics. Do you know about them?" Here I have to say, that there are no babtist catholics in the world. There is a Sphere organisation, but I know nothing of it and have not heard of it before the dream. I answered something like: "A litlle, but not much." He then I guess explained to me about them. I wanted to tell him about Helsinki University, but decided to delay it. As we left the bus, there was this black man next to me and (as I later noticed) the old man behind me. The black man looked a bit like Kofi Annan, but looked darker, older and more friendly but less carismatic.
I took the black mans hand and told him: "There is a world much grander than anything you can imagine." Then I told him (but cant recall the exact words) about my studies at Helsinki University and how wonderful this world trully is. I was also sad that these men could not come with me to see this place. The moment I started to realize that I was waking up, I again took the black mans and the old mans hand and said: "I have to go now!" I said them still good bye and that I would miss them. Then I opened my eyes and woke up, as I had predicted. All this time I had been aware of things happening and decided to say what I said.
By the way the last dream I really dremt in english, not in finnish. This might also be an interesting fact, as usually I dream in finnish, but there are many exceptions.
